No more dramatization – give something positive a voice.

Pay close attention to what you might be dramatizing. Listen carefully to yourself when you speak of your so-called struggles. Try to sense the difference between the situation and your reaction to it. Negative energies inside of you don’t need to be amplified, nor do they need to be your only means of communication, when you relate to others. Do your best to amplify something worth talking about today – something that’s working well. Give something positive a voice today. Your busyness, your heath concerns, your overwhelming schedule, etc., those things might be whipping up some stressful feelings, and they have had enough of your attention and conversation lately. Time to focus on something else.

You usually come out OK – actually better than OK. It’s experience that teaches you that you are always safe. Pay attention to how far you’ve come, already. You haven’t gone “off the deep end.” You haven’t done what your mind is afraid of – failure. Those so-called dead ends, those explosive, overly dramatic, apocalyptic scenarios have not come to fruition, so you can just stop. Every challenge you’ve been through has had some value – so learn from it and stop dramatizing it.

You can stop imagining the worse, and you can stop discussing it all the time. Negative emotions cannot harm you, and they certainly don’t need to be magnified. Minimize their effects by starving the thoughts that blow them out of proportion. Replace them with focusing peacefully on one thing at a time. Give yourself a little space, a little room to breathe. The world is overly dramatic, don’t contribute to the chaos. Don’t look down from the precipice, you’re only scaring yourself. Look up, look out, be vigilant and recognize drama in your head and in others. Help minimize the drama by recognizing it – don’t give it a voice anymore. Give something positive a voice today.
