Sometimes you have to pause and contemplate the wonder of the universe. Start with size. How mind-boggling is it that you are so minuscule in comparison to everything else in the universe! You are hardly noticeable, on a tiny spec of a planet, in the vastness of interstellar space! Moreover, think of time. How preciously short is a human lifespan, in the overall scheme of history! As it relates to the physical proportions, your size and time span on earth is less than a spec. But as it relates to the nonphysical, you are ginormous!
In the physical universe, there is a whopping dichotomy of scale, both in the microcosm and the macrocosm, but there’s something to learn from recognizing that. Our physical insignificance helps us to recognize our own, inner significance. Too often, we fail to recognize our amazingness as created beings. We don’t know our own wonderfulness – we only see it in creation, “out there,” somewhere in the universe. We see talent in others; we see intelligence in others; we see beauty in others; but those things somehow don’t belong to the observer. But when you observe cosmic wonder, you’re actually observing that in yourself. That vast intelligence that created you, is you, not separate from you.
There is something greater than the idea of “you.” You may not ever fully understand, but you’ll learn so much by taking time to contemplate your physical insignificance and your spiritual vastness. Look up, look out, and contemplate, observe the microcosm and the macrocosm that exists within you. But above all, observe yourself, and be in awe at what you are. You’re wonderful, no exceptions. Wonderfulness is everyone’s birthright. You can claim it. Be in awe of your own, amazing skills, your limitless intellect, and your flawless beauty.
