Misery loves to blame. Let life be the teacher!

If you’re bothered by the behaviors of another, it’s not your responsibility to show them the err of their ways. Misery loves to blame. Misery loves to try to correct others, too. Immature people hardly ever see themselves as the root cause of their own misery. They are blind. What they “see” is that everyone else and everything else is what’s causing their so-called problem. But it takes a great deal of humility to reflect on how a person might be to blame for their own misery. However, if you try to be the “teacher,” pointing out how someone is petulant, dramatic, or immature, it will only backfire on you.

Life is corrective, and it will always nudge you in the right ways, if you are willing to drop the need to correct others. Each person has to discover their own path of righteousness, for their own life. If they are off course, they’ll be miserable forever. Of course, never allow people to mistreat you or to mistreat others, that’s not what I’m talking about. Standing up for yourself is different from self-righteous indignation. If you try to play the role of the teacher, the accused person will only see you as one who is attacking them.

We are not each other’s parents. Life is our parent and sometimes it teaches, sternly. Vindication will come to those who mistreat others or act immaturely, to get what they want. It’s just a matter of time before life catches up to the actions of the overly dramatic. Sometimes dramatic people learn, and sometimes they don’t. They can’t seem to understand why life is hard, or why people abandon them. If they don’t learn, they will always be miserable, until they do. When someone seems to make you miserable, take it as a corrective measure for yourself, and make sure you don’t mimic their poor behaviors. That’s the best way – to let life correct you. Don’t try to correct others, it only adds to your misery and there’s enough of that going around these days.
