People with charisma make miracles happen in the world. Charisma is a perception, a compelling attractiveness or charm that can inspire devotion in others. Charm is the power or quality of giving delight or arousing admiration. If you’re perceived as having charisma, there in turn lies what seems like a superpower, a power to delight, inspire, lead and to attract whatever you want into your life. But it’s not a superpower. It’s the result of enthusiasm.
The three “superpowers” of enthusiasm are, enjoyment, interest, and approval:
- Enjoyment: An enthusiastic person enjoys being themselves. An enthusiastic person enjoys the moment (most all of them), they have more reasons to smile, thus more good things are attracted to them. Enjoyment is a default, constant response, not the exception. Enjoyment is intentional, and it’s priority for a charismatic person.
- Interest: An enthusiastic person is interested in what they are doing, they don’t need reminders or stimulation to stay focused. They show interest in others. They show interest in what activity they’re engaged with, no matter how minimal or “boring.” Interest is an inclination towards discovery and learning. It’s a sincere curiosity about everything. Charismatic people practice being interesting; they practice being interested; and they have interests (hobbies and skills).
- Approval: An enthusiastic person approves by saying “yes” to what is. They say “yes” to opportunity, and they fully embrace and approve of the present moment. They don’t resist what is, and they unconditionally approve of themselves and others.
Charismatic individuals regularly practice the three components of enthusiasm, and they don’t need motivation, stimulation, or inspiration – they create those things themselves. Keep practicing the three elements of enthusiasm, and you just be one of those lucky “superheroes,” who people see as charming and full of charisma. It’s a great way to make good things happen in your life!
