The language of the heart communicates in silence.

The heart knows more than the intellect, but we often miss out on its messages because we don’t quite know how it communicates. But your intuition is always communicating. It happens at the gut level. The heart is the window into who you really are. This intuitive feeling often nags at you until you begin to conform to what it is “saying.” You’ll know you’re on the right path when things feel at ease, peaceful, and sometimes exciting. That’s not to say that these deeper messages will be easy to follow, either. Quite contrary, it’s sometimes very illusive, unclear, or it requires us to make tough decisions for ourselves. When it requires tough decisions, that’s when we ignore it, distract ourselves from it, or outright do the opposite of what it wants!

But I’ve learned it’s better to follow it. It knows best. What it wants from you won’t leave you alone until you honor it, follow it, and trust it. To hear your intuitive voice, you must first learn what it uses to communicate. It communicates in the stillness of silence. But sitting and listening quietly, alone, and with no distraction can be a scary place for many people. The quiet, early-morning hours of each day can bring clarity that nothing else in your life can. Start your day with silence, even if just for a few moments. You’ll learn more about yourself. You’ll learn to make better decisions in your life, rather than compulsive, and flippant ones. You’ll learn the virtues of patience and kindness. You’ll be more open to listen, rather than to talk, and you’ll enjoy your own company more. The language of the heart is a simple one, and it’s wordless. It’s hard to learn a new language, but this one (silence) is quite easy to learn. Spend a few minutes a day with it, and you’ll become fluid in decoding its important messages to you. Pay attention and follow its instruction. You’ll be glad you did.
