What you may perceive as struggle can be viewed through two different lenses. First off, struggle is the mind’s way of overly amplifying a situation. Too often, we can become judgmental and critical of what’s happening in life, that truth gets warped and dramatized. Creating a bit of space and stepping away from obsessive judgments is called perspective. But too often, it’s easy to get wrapped up in the mind’s insistence on drama. Today is a great day to allow yourself some time and some space to create much-needed perspective. The narrowly focused, critical mind draws attention to the so-called “problems” in life. Creating a little space to see truth is vital in rethinking your pereception of struggle. Stepping back is a way of combatting the mind’s compulsive ways. It’s like throwing up the white flag of surrender and working with life, rather than against it.
There is a second way to reframe the concept of struggle. Life’s challenges always build strength, no matter how your mind labels a certain situation. Going to the gym is a great analogy to this point. When you want to develop muscle, you must put those muscles through stress. The only way to build muscle is through strain. But this is not a bad thing, but a benefit to the body, and many people enjoy weight lifting! If exercise is something you dread, this analogy might be hard to digest! But no matter how you look at it, so-called struggle, teaches you. It helps you grow, and it always leads you to something better. But you must put things in the right perspective before you even begin your day. Approach everything with freedom from mental, dramatic amplification. Instead, put on your workout gloves and gym shorts, not your battle gear. Get pumped up, not beaten down. Even though the struggle may be fictitious, the benefits of challenge can teach you new things that help you grow and strengthen! So don’t be afraid to sweat and to do some work today. You’ll never know life’s benefits unless you roll up your sleeves and get going!
