Think of what you would miss before it’s too late.

Think of what you would miss when your human form is no longer. Would you miss stress? Would you miss petulant worries? Would you miss financial concerns or beating yourself up? Would you miss fretting about the future or getting anxious about politics? Would you miss consuming the news, or scrolling on TikTok? Would you miss squabbles or being cross with traffic everyday? Would you miss feeling bloated and stuffed after you eat a hotdog? Would you miss procrastinating? Would you miss lying to yourself about getting to that exercise goal “tomorrow?”

Something is missing. We’re missing the point. Most of our attention is on things we wouldn’t miss if it were gone. I would miss laughter. I would miss sitting quietly. I would miss the sky, the beautiful painting above me that I can see each and every day. I would miss nature’s smile.

I would miss love, the tender moments I share by myself and with others. I would miss my body and how vibrant, strong, healthy and limber it is. I would miss the company of good people. I would miss animals, and the joy of healthy living. I would miss literature, art, music, and creative people. But I would mostly miss waking up. I would miss that early morning time, the silence, the stillness of being. I would miss giving thanks for another day. I would miss seeing my blue eyes in the mirror and marveling at their beauty. I would miss life. I would miss being. I would miss the joy of moving, breathing, and creating light in the world. I would miss having the opportunity to bring love to others. I would miss myself, being who I was created to be. Think of what you would miss. Focus on that now, before it’s too late.
