It may be time for you to do a relationship audit. Do your relationships provide sustenance, nourishment, energy and ease? Or is it impossible to find time to connect, to find common ground, or to foster inner joy within each other? Many times we maintain relationships with people for the wrong reasons. Perhaps because we feel guilty for saying “no” to their invitation or desire to see us; or because we fear hurting them for not wanting to spend time with them; or because they have always been in our lives, like a family member. Just because someone shares your DNA, does’t mean they share in your concerns, your interests, and your dreams for happiness and self-growth. A healthy relationship will be one that leads you to your better self, not one that leads you away from your better self.
A healthy relationship will encourage your spiritual journey and expansion. If you feel that there are parts of you that have to hide, in the presence of so-called friends or partners; or that you have to suppress your natural desire to share, freely, then it may be time to let someone go. Or you may need to severely limit the amount of time you interact with them. If you feel too dependent on someone, this too can be a sign of needing to do a relationship audit. Remember, a healthy relationship helps you to build on your own, inner strength, and to be totally content with who you are, when alone and with others. In a healthy relationship, you don’t have to pretend to be someone else or to compromise your integrity. You will naturally give and share, by means of expressing your truest self, with no feelings of inhibition or having to hold your tongue. It may be time to reevaluate your own relationships, with everyone in your life. Gravitate towards those people whose energy brings out your independence, your self-belief, and your inner strength. The others can be let go, and your time and energy can be devoted to attracting better partnerships into your life, ones that easily help to bring out the best of who you really are.
