I realized several years ago that the universe is responsive, and attentive. But I also realized that the universe can be unresponsive to fear, and quite frankly – it doesn’t speak that language. The universe also doesn’t respond to demands and to compulsive desire, either. I like to think of it like a steady, firm parent who never gives into the petulant demands of a child. A good parent will teach a child to act in love, to be respectful, to let go of selfishness. The universe is constantly reminding us of these virtues. The universe lovingly conspires to give us our heart’s desires, but never if we demand or insist. The universe also seems deaf to fear. In other words, being afraid never yields a productive, bountiful life, anymore than demanding it will.
The language of the universe never comes in the form of words. Its communication comes through silence, and it teaches us through circumstance. Louis Hay once said “Life’s journey is a voyage inward.” She spoke incessantly about the importance of practicing self-love, not self-loathing. If you want the universe to become responsive (provide opportunities, serendipities, miracles, and abundance), you must learn to “speak” its language. It is incapable of hate, it never complains or worries, and it provides for all lifeforms. Until we plug into the harvest of love’s “language,” problems will fester, and people will continue to fight. Problems cannot cease unless each of us learns to love ourselves with total acceptance. From there, inner peace emerges. Loving yourself, accepting yourself, and removing fear and your insistence is how you can do your part to improve life on the planet. Do your part today, and awaken to the language of the universe. Begin by practicing self-love. From there, you will use your gifts to help others speak and understand the loving language of the universe.
