Progress that makes a real difference.

The metrics of success are set by none other than you. You set forth the standard of what success looks like, what it feels like, and what is means to you. You are the one that interprets the metrics of progress, and you know the milestones of achievement. However, there are so many ways to view progress. There are a myriad of ways to interpret what it is, and what it means. But the most significant kind of growth, or metric of success, is in the growth of learning about yourself.

The kind of progress that began to make a huge difference for me was when I shifted my goals. I once aspired to achieve great things, now my goals are about improving what kind of person I want to be. I realized that the people I admired in my life were not admirable because of what they accomplished, but in who they were. They were mentors, inspirers, uplifters, and hard workers. They gave and sacrificed, so I could be a winner. It took me a long time to turn my attention towards becoming that kind of person – the kind of person who wants others to win more than wanting to win themselves. It took me forever to realize that my aspirations for achievement and acquisition were selfish, and that those things never really “added” to who I was. When my goals shifted from outer ones to inner ones, life began to really flourish. Repurpose your goals and fulfill a new destiny – one that brings a better YOU to the world. The world needs better humans, not more millionaires, or entrepreneurs. Those outer goals can never be more important than the inner process of becoming a better person. The metric of real success is in how kind you are, in how patient you are, in how loving you are, and in how generous you are to others. That’s the kind of success that will make a real difference in the world.
