Get excited… the lessons always show you who you are.

Many people use what they know about themselves to create a self-destructive, critical viewpoint of who they are. But self-knowledge is a gift, an asset to your greater purpose in life. The key is in how you use your self-knowledge. Do you use it against yourself, as a means of limitation or complaint? Or do you use it to your advantage? Just about every, single human being has some room for improvement in areas such as, posture, attitude, efforts to make new friends, doing more for better health and fitness, or doing something to reconnect to the innocence of being young at heart.

Whatever it is that you learn about yourself, remember that life is lovingly corrective, not spitefully punitive. Working on yourself is a lifetime pursuit, and you’ll never be “finished,” no one is, no matter how “together” they seem, externally. A healthy self-knowledge (not self-critique) can be one of the most gratifying revelations of being a human. It never means that you’re a wretch or a failure, it just means you’ve got some work to do. Good for you, when you understand something about your own room for improvement.

You might be delightfully surprised at how quickly things turn around, when you get jazzed up about what you know that you need to improve about yourself. It never means you’re fundamentally broken, per se, it just means you have some work to do, to better understand your true self and to align your actions with what you know. Don’t use what you know about yourself to destroy your confidence and to continue making poor choices. Use what you know to improve everything. When you do, you already have an advantage over other humans who haven’t figured out the joy of becoming a better person.
