The income of experience, and outcome of obsessiveness.

If challenge hasn’t come to you, just be patient, it will eventually come. It’s a natural part of being human. Every animal on earth gets challenged, but challenges are always meant for growth, for sharpening awareness and skills, and for developing strength. Challenge is meant for our own journey of self-learning.

Each so-called disappointing situation has the potential to create “income.” This type of wealth is intangible, however. It’s the acquisition of patience, and skill that challenge has the potential to give. Through trial we gain knowledge, and we gain understanding. That’s the “income” that’s so valuable for a better life. If your expectations shift to simply becoming a better person, it shouldn’t matter how that process occurs, on the external level. Let reality be what reality needs to be, but remember that the process is not about the outcome per se, but about the income of becoming a better you. Gaining clearer insight, developing more understanding – the “riches” of being a wiser person – this is the income that you really desire.

Reality wants you to be rich – rich in skills, rich in ability to see when it’s time to compromise and to accept, and rich in knowing when to press on. Rather than obsessing about the outcome, why not have a different kind of expectation – the kind of expectation that befriends reality, because you trust in its purpose to make you a better, “richer” person. That kind of income will make you insanely rich with the wisdom to do whatever you set your mind to do. You will no longer be obsessed with outcome, you’ll be prioritizing being a terrific human being from the inside out. All you have to do is to trust that it’s all working towards your greater good, always making you richer everyday.
