What does the truth feel like? In other words, how do you sense the sincerity in the words that you hear and speak? When words are sincere, you really hear and understand them. Even if what you hear is difficult, the resonance of the words will deeply penetrate. When the words come from a deeper source of truth, it’s like a balm, a healing energy. When the words come from the soul, they resonate in ways that make you pay attention to them. Truthful words captivate you, and they make you listen. When the words are true, you cannot help but understand them, unequivocally. When the words are true, you don’t try to interrupt the speaker. You’re compelled to listen, intensely.
Today, pay attention to the words you use. Pay attention to your own words as they come from your lips. Is what you say true? Is it meant to heal, to help, to convey a sincere message? Words are a powerful tool. But be alert, the mind uses that powerful tool to create havoc. Those words, that just seem to come into your head, come from a different place. The midstream of mental chatter has a different source. They seem random, often they are lies that we believe about ourselves and our situations. Those words are the most untrustworthy source of information.
Try to use some new words today, especially the words that you use to describe yourself. Know the difference between lies and truth. Truth conveys a message. Lies convey harm, chaos, and confusion. There’s a difference between an intentional message and strung-together words (noise). Truth conveys clarity. Lies convey obscurity. There’s a difference between a point and being pointless. Truth conveys a positive energy, even if the message is a difficult one to deliver. Lies convey a negative energy, one that spews revenge and criticism. Let the words come from a deeper place, today. Speak the truth. Convey the truth. Be the truth.
