The selective art of discernment.

What exactly is happening when you’re in the process of deciding something? You’re trying to consult with what resonates with you. Resonance is in your gut, not your mind, but the mind clouds things up. Sometimes, your core feeling and your mind are in conflict, and that’s what’s hard. You’re mind is trying to keep you out of trouble. But careful decision-making doesn’t mean your choice will be trouble-free, down the road. You can never totally mitigate the risk of choosing. So you’re fooling yourself, if you need a guarantee about the outcome.

The one thing that is always certain about decision-making is that the process of discernment is a process towards self-knowledge. You’re trying to get in touch with that special, inner truth. If you can get in tune with that part of your core, then you can make better decisions, ones that align with it. You can pass things up that don’t fit. And you can hold true to knowing what’s rightfully designed for you – to ascertain when the “delivery” has arrived – a custom fit, your dream come true.

Decisions don’t have to be a struggle, but getting better at it takes time. That’s because it takes time to get to know yourself. Getting to know yourself is a fun process, not a fearful one that’s fraught with worry over making the “wrong” decision. Decision-making is always pointing you towards self-discovery, so what do you have to lose anyway? Get more decisive by resonating with your truth, and then you can be more selective as you learn what’s right for you and what’s not. It’s all part of the process of knowing yourself, so no more struggling to decide. You’ll get there one way or another.
