The ingredients of a good life – WORDS.

Wednesday, June 7, 2023

Words can cut. Words can destroy. Words can limit and draw in despair. But words can heal, they can uplift, and they build up. They can be just the right prescription for a weary soul. If you aren’t well, saturate your mind with positive words. Find something – the Bible, YouTube, a song, a poem. Plug into words of healing and saturate yourself. If you have to express your anger and frustration, then fine – go scream in the woods, or beat your pillow. But always speaking words of pain does us no good. Everything starts with a word – either fighting words, or words of grandeur and delight. How do you start your day?

Negative emotions are fickle and weak, and they can be broken with a joke, or something as silly as a fart. Find a new vocabulary, and you’ll find the ingredients of good life. Heal yourself with new, uplifting words. You may not feel like it, but you have the power to create words over emotions.

Speak from your heart, not from your fickle feelings. The heart wants to sing, to soar, and to burst forth in song – who cares what’s going on in “reality.” Don’t cover up your creative ability by giving in to feeling like a poopsy pants. Drop the negative veil of emotions, go within, and let your heart speak strength, power, glory, and happiness. You can heal yourself with words. You can change the world with words. Prescribe yourself some new words – go to scripture, YouTube, Ted Talks, hymns, songs of joy – whatever it takes. Bathe yourself in the cleansing power of uplifting words. Start by getting away from social media. It can do wonders for your soul. If you are healed with positive words, you can bring others “up there” with you. Don’t drag everyone else into your words of despair – the world has enough of that!
