Everything comes with “baggage.” Relationships, jobs, deciding to go to school, etc. The problem comes when we fail to understand the full and dynamic ramifications of our choices. This is further complicated when the universe makes a “choice” for us – like an unexpected illness, or a some other, life-altering surprise. But the cognizant choices along life’s path always result in fluid outcomes. The outcomes of the choices you make are always, dynamic, evolving, changing, and growing. A choice to have a child, a choice to take a job, a choice to enter a relationship all result in something that evolves and changes, often rapidly. These results are hardly ever static. Even the purchase of a new home comes with the need for upgrades, repairs, and upkeep. All of it can be considered “baggage.” Just remember that every choice you make results in something. That something can change so much that over time, it hardly resembles the choice you once made.
Today is a great day to understand the nature of choice. When you make a choice, take full responsibility of the baggage that goes with it. But go one step further, and be willing to allow it to change. Seeing what lessons emerge from your choices, especially when they seem to turn on you, is the only way to remain peaceful. Taking full responsibility for your choices in life means that you are also willing to part with the result, if the baggage gets too heavy. The universe wants you to see the temporary nature of life – not to grip things so tightly that you cannot even see when your baggage becomes an Albatros! When it’s time to let it go, you’ll know. When it’s time to evolve with it, you’ll know. When it’s time to make new choices, you’ll know. But you also must know what kind of luggage those choices bring, so pack lightly on your journey. Don’t let the results of your choices become burdens – allow them to be free and to evolve, grow, and change as they need to. When you understand the nature of all of this “baggage” life brings, you won’t load yourself down with unnecessary things you cannot carry. Besides, it’s all temporary anyway!
