It may seem like your life has many problems to solve. That’s understandable, because the mind likes to solve problems. Sometimes, just when you think you’re problem free, your mind will find something to “fix.” But problems are nothing more than stories you create about situations in your life. What I’ve learned is that nature doesn’t exactly care about what you’ve labeled as a “problem.” Life has a way of continuing effortlessly, even when you are having a hard time. When my best friend died a few years ago, I felt as though life was being cruel as it just continued, just as it always had, for billions of years. I wanted the world to notice that my best friend died, but the ongoing nature of life seemed to not want to pause, like I did. I learned that I had to jump right back in, the best I knew how to, or life would leave me behind.
Today is a good day to stop feeling like your so-called problems actually make a difference on a global scale. The truth is, they don’t. I’m not saying to abandon your responsibilities and throw caution to the wind. But we mustn’t let our minds take over and to burden us with trying to “fix” everything. The truth is, life needs no “fixing.” What you see as a problem is more than likely going to work itself out without all that worry and concern. Stop looking for solutions. Five years from now, what you are stewing about will seem like a distant, vague dream. If there is an issue, you’ll solve it as it needs to be solved, in the present moment. Relax and let go of the need to solve everything, all at once. Today you can trust. Trust in the universe’s ability to sustain itself. It’s been doing that for billions of years without you stewing over every little thing. Stop trying to help. The universe can do it without you. Instead, join in the effort to remain peaceful and be grateful for what time remains in your life on earth.
