When the music starts, just let your body move.

For almost my entire life, I thought I couldn’t dance, and that it wasn’t “my thing.” I felt awkward, and I thought dancing was stupid, although as a child, I loved to dance. Most children do. When the music starts, their little knees just start grooving with the beat. Recently, and for a complicated reason, I decided to try dancing. After doing it several times, I realized that I did indeed like dancing! Actually, I love to dance now. When I hear music that energizes me, my body just naturally begins to flow with the beat. I’m a musician, and I never put together making music with natural, body movement. My spirit wanted to move with the flow of the music, to help me process feelings that I had kept bottled up for so long. My spirit desired to be expressive, and dancing was one way I learned to satisfy this deep yearning.

In what ways is your spirit desiring to be expressive, though your interaction with reality? Ask that question every single day. Ask, “What do I desire?” Remember that just because you may be over the hill, your remaining journey does not have to be downward. Keep exploring your desires. Learn of what you need to do, especially for yourself, to explore your deepest passions. Try different things, but start out small. You’ll learn to get in touch with the calling from within – the calling to be who you really are, and to do what you really need to do. When the music starts, just let the body move, all by itself. The music of your life will prompt you to flow with it, to move as it moves – so be flexible and above all, be expressive. Let the spirit naturally respond to your reality, but always remain curious about where it’s taking you. Let your spirit express itself when the music starts, and you’ll feel vibrant, alive, and full of possibility.
