Today is a good day to pay close attention to what you take in. There is a saying that goes something like, “Garbage in, garbage out.” A simple statement, yet so true. What you allow into your consciousness and into your body eventually becomes who you are. Think about everything that you ingest in a given day with your mouth, your eyes, your ears, your mind, and your heart. Are you mindlessly consuming information, or are you being more selective? If everything you take in makes up who you are, wouldn’t you want to be made of better ingredients? Today is a good day to be more careful of what you consume, particularly unhealthy foods, negative media, obsessive and toxic thoughts, and the words of those who complain.
Today, work on craving things that are nutritious. Become motivated by what’s healthy for you. Don’t just take it in because it’s right in front of you. If colleagues are engaged in complaining, you are not obligated to join in. If there are donuts in the workroom, you are not obligated to eat them. Be much more selective in what you take in. Or better yet, do some fasting today! When there’s down time, the TV can remain off, FaceBook can go unchecked, and the news certainly doesn’t need your precious attention. Instead, consume things that enrich your body and your soul. Choose education over entertainment. Choose silence over noise. Choose fresh over processed. Choose to consume life-sustaining substances not things that harm you, or irritate you, or cause you to worry. Avoid what is toxic and get excited about what is nutritious, uplifting, and beautiful. See something beautiful today. Think something worthy today. Share something motivating today. Choosing nutrition is living a life of intention, rather than compulsiveness. Drink up the richness that life offers. Feel strong, be joyful and soak up all of the good energy that’s waiting for you today. There is no more time for mindless consumption.
