Everyone loves enthusiasm.

Enthusiasm seems to be in short supply these days, unless you’re a kid! When life becomes demanding, and you seem to be living a life of obligation and routine, enthusiasm withers. I like to think of enthusiasm as a form of energy that can transform an ordinary day into possibility. The word itself comes from the Greek, and it means “possessed by God.” It is really hard to wrap your mind around the idea of being possessed by God, isn’t it? But at the very least, it should make you wonder where enthusiasm comes from. To be enthused is to be “infused” with the positive energy of the divine. The divine is the source of enthusiasm – even in the things you have to do today.

Make some room for enthusiasm today, not just for your activities, but for the people you will encounter. Show others that being in their very presence is cause for enthusiasm. People are worth being enthusiastic about – they are far more valuable than any task you are to undertake anyway. Besides, you’ll be amazed at how others will respond if you show some enthusiasm for them, their ideas, and their presence. When two or three are gathered together, there is a potential energy that can really boost productivity and creativity. If you’re enthusiastic, chances are, you can be a tremendous influence on others, especially when you need them to cooperate and/or collaborate. The energy of enthusiasm will go so much further than the dreadfulness of obligation. Being enthusiastic about people and their potential to help you, will open the door for more possibility, more opportunity, and more synergy. Enthusiasm is about collaboration, aliveness, and cooperation with life and with people. The energy of enthusiasm will surprise you. You can accomplish so much more with a little more space for some enthusiasm today!
