Nothing seems hasty in nature. It’s a perfectly timed dance. And your life, it is like this too, but you must notice it. When you compare the age of humans to the age of the universe itself, we are but a micro-spec on the larger timeline. When you think of an individual lifetime, compared to the timeline of the universe, the insignificance is inconceivable. Our individual lifetimes are not just short, they are hardly a thing at all.
Comfort yourself by remembering just how brief your life is – yes, that’s comforting! You briefly enter the stage of life, and then you exit. Your entry onto the world’s stage is a flash, a nanosecond, a micro-blip. Why would you ever be in a hurry to do anything? Your window of time on earth mustn’t be ruined by rushing, or by worrying or regretting. It’s too short for all of that nonsense. Besides, you’ll sour your stage’s cameo appearance! There aren’t any do-overs, so be productive, yes – be worried, hurried, and harried – no way. Those things aren’t natural – the universe isn’t like that. Nature’s way is acceptance; its way is surrender; its way is to savor; the natural way is peace. Nature’s way is to be busy, yet fully aware of life’s brevity. On the stage of life, your appearance is way too short to miss the splendor of the spotlight, which will switch off in a flash. Pay close attention to your performance on life’s stage. Take full advantage of your lifetime and soak it in. Your life is but a glimpse – take a good, thorough look at everything before the lights go out.
