It’s time to discover the joy of adventure. The joy of adventure is developed by taking time to ask yourself, “Why am I doing this?” Or “How does this make me feel?” If what you do and who you’re with doesn’t create a vibrant sense of aliveness within you, it may be time to let them go, to change them, or to reassess their meaning in your life. Begin to take inventory of what no longer serves you and what no longer benefits your spirit.
Habits are comfortable. They are predictable, and they require no risk. But the joy of adventure requires an openness to change, and a great deal of comfort in taking risks. Routines, beliefs, and customs can often cast a serious, heaviness to the present moment. Even a quick trip to the grocery store can be a huge bother, if the lines are long, or there is no place to park. Do you remember, as a child, when a trip to the grocery store was an adventure? The inner spirit loves an adventure! It loves a challenge too, and it loves to just be, no matter what’s happening around you. When the music plays, let the body respond – let your head bebop and your hands gyrate. When opportunity knocks, open the door with a smile. Respond to the moment, not the compulsiveness of habits and customs. When there is a free moment, don’t pick up the phone and mindlessly scroll. Don’t turn on the TV and veg. Take time to listen to what you want. Let desire choose what it wants, through the joy of your being. Examine your habits (including the way you think and believe), and make sure they bring you joy, happiness, and beauty within your spirit. Make some room to engage your imagination, and to whip up something you really want in life. Reimagine the world you want to live in, and get fired up about creating that new, joyful reality for yourself. It is possible, but not if you are lost in the habits that no longer serve your inner sense of adventure.
