Just because the divorce rate is over 50% doesn’t mean that’s your destiny. Just because 40% of the population is obese, doesn’t mean that you have to be a part of that grim reality. Just because 65% of all businesses fail within 10 years, doesn’t mean that is what is going to happen to yours. Your future doesn’t have to fall prey to a statistic, a discouraging word, or a loss of hope. The light that you shine on your future is fueled by what you know is in your heart.
It’s so hard to lose weight. It’s so hard to start a business. It’s impossible to find true love. Have you heard these “statistics?” The odds seem stacked against you, but possibility lurks in the recesses of your heart. Tell someone what you’re hoping for, and they’ll give you an earful why it can never work. If you want a compelling reason why you shouldn’t do something, or why something will fail – ask a failure for advice, or read sobering statistics. Discouragement abounds, but possibility hides. Faith is subtle and can wither under the slightest stress, until you get calm and quiet again. Faith takes time to cultivate, and is extremely prone to the diseases of impatience, discouragement, and statistics.
Obstacles fall like dominoes, for those who can endure the trials of their faith. The trial of faith is a period of strengthening, solidifying your heart’s desire, so that when it arrives, you are fully ready. No-one wants something that they would be unprepared to receive. The key is to keep a watchful eye, and a hopeful heart for that which you know is rightfully yours. Be like a kid on Christmas again, eagerly awaiting what Santa is bringing for you. It’s the only way to beat the so-called odds.
