Love first, then others will notice your effort.

You don’t have to try so hard, just focus on love first. Fried chicken is fried chicken, and colonel Sanders just happened to love frying chicken the most. Coffee is coffee, and Starbucks just loved telling its story. Pie is pie, and Marie Calendar just loved baking. Steve Harvey loved being funny, and his first jokes paid him $10 a piece. Now those same jokes are worth millions. Steve Jobs loved tinkering with personal technology in his garage, and we all know how that story blew up. None of these people did anything new or extraordinary, per se. At the heart of what they did was love, and it drove their passion to continue each day.

If you need a compelling reason to keep going, let love fuel your actions, infuse your thoughts, and sit ahead of your intentions. It’s not “love” of being first that generates success. It’s when you love first, that success follows. Let love be the backbone of your ideas, your work, your passion, your relationships, and your offerings to the world. Love first, and it will return to you, in a second form.

Write a story because you love telling it and reading it. Sell something that you, yourself love to use. Share information that has worked for you, because you’ve loved learning about it. Cook something that you enjoy eating yourself, and then you can love when others enjoy it too. Play some music that you love to hear yourself play, and then others will join you. The key is to love first, even if you’re the only one who notices. Sometimes you have to love hearing your own music for a long time before someone else will enjoy hearing it with you. Just keep loving first, and there will be a response in due time.
