It’s too easy to be dissuaded by statistics, stopped by how long something might take, or convinced that you have no time left. But how can you be certain that the outcome is so far away, too hard, or too complex? Overwhelm is simply a form of fear, and listening to the beating drum of an inevitable failure is what stops so many before they even begin.
The belief in what could not or should not happen doesn’t have the final say. The final say hasn’t happened yet. As long as tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet, it can be brighter. The faithful are convinced that the future will improve. The discouraged are convinced that their best days are already behind them. But here’s the key, the final say hasn’t arrived yet. Your story isn’t over.
I cannot be convinced that my fate is to be loveless, worthless, lonely, or “ordinary.” I cannot be convinced that my past actions sentence me to a life of despair and repentance. I cannot be convinced that I was put on the planet to lose. I cannot be convinced that my story over, and that my shortcomings and my fears get the final word. I cannot be convinced that my story ends with nothing to show for my actions in this life. However, I am convinced that there is something more. I am convinced that I am here to thrive, to have life to the fullest, and to conquer what I fear. I am convinced that faith means something. I am convinced in the healing transformation of love, and in the power of possibility. The smallest investments towards my better future will make the biggest difference in my remaining days. What are you convinced of?
