Anytime you step towards a big dream, you’ll face big doubts. These doubts are natural crosscurrents and headwinds in the mind. Other people will also oppose you, if you tell them of your seemingly impossible dreams. But airplanes land into the wind, and the same is true of heading towards your dream. Extraordinary people move towards their doubts, and through the opposing forces of impossibility thoughts. The pilot works with resistance to keep the plane stable and steady. The plane may wobble or veer, but the pilot keeps a steady eye on that center line on the runway just off the horizon. It’s a delicate dance, but oh, so much fun! Landing a plane is exhilarating, I know, I’m a pilot!
Stepping out towards a dream is like landing a plane. Headwinds and crosswinds are your doubts, and people telling you, you can’t. But you are the pilot in command, gently balancing the headwinds and working with the gravitational pull of universal intelligence. You cannot land before you’re ready – you’ll crash.
Small corrections will be necessary. Just pitch the nose in a perfect attitude and keep it there – not too far down, and not too far up, you’ll stall. Fly with precision with one hand loosely gripping the wheel, but don’t grab. Don’t kick the rudders in panic. To land perfectly on your dream is to glide through the turbulent crosswinds of doubt, and allow the constant forces of gravity to work. Keep your eye on the center line, and keep that plane in perfect alignment. Eventually gravity will be the force that attracts the runway (your goals) to your wheels (your soul). You’re just gently guiding yourself through it all, and enjoying the dance. No need to panic! A good pilot is a steady one. Work with doubt. Work with gravity. Keep her steady, and eventually the ground will meet you and you’ll make a perfect touchdown.
