Ask nicely. That’s all you can do.

What is the source of success? Sometimes it comes as a last-minute idea. J.K. Rowling was destitute, and on her last penny, when the idea of Harry Potter came to her rescue. Sometimes success is merely practical. Sara Blakely came up with the idea of Spanx, after being unable to find fashionable, slimming garments. Other times, it comes as a discovery. Issac Newton was literally hit over the head by an apple, when the concept of gravity began to materialize in his thoughts. Other times, it comes as an opportunity. Oprah Winfrey was offered her own talk show, by executives who realized being a reporter wasn’t her strength.

Does success discriminate? Or do you have access to that idea that can touch the world; do you have access to that encounter that changes your destiny; do you have access to that moment when you literally step into an awesome opportunity?

We all do, but we have to ask. But to make a withdrawal from the treasures of heaven, you first have to make a “deposit” of sacrifice, effort, gratitude, and hope. If you hope for and ask nicely, you’ll get that email, that invitation, that phone call, that encounter that opens up opportunity, or that last-minute idea. But ask nicely, stay in faith, and do what you can to make a difference today. Do good to others when they succeed. Envy will prevent your moment. Have a good attitude. Being impatient and being demanding will keep the door of possibility sealed shut. Don’t lose your temper when things aren’t moving, yet. Ask nicely, and for God’s sake, don’t dwell on when or how. That’s none of your business. Your business is to ask nicely, stay in faith, and to be kind and caring to yourself and others. That’s essentially all that you can do.
