The story of the parting of the Red Sea is your story. It all starts with a desire or a need. Moses and the Israelites were in need. They desired to get to the Promised Land, and God made a way, but not until they had a leader who burned with desire, passion, and faith. Whatever you hope for is the razor’s edge. The nature of desire is the leading edge of “cutting through” the noise and obstacles. It’s what leads you to victory, but you have to keep it alive, sharp, and vibrant.
Proverbs states that “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.” Part of our destiny is to hope for things, to desire, and to project future scenarios of promised abundance. The key is to express desire by seeking to produce something helpful to the world.
The sharpness of your leading edge depends on how much you express gratitude, excitement, and enthusiasm for your projects and contributions – not for how much money you want or what kind of partner you long for. That’s part of it, but the leading edge brightens when you conjure up ways to be helpful to humanity. The more enthused you are, the leading edge slices through like a hot knife in butter. When you burn with passion it melts away the iceberg ahead of you. When you sizzle with eagerness, the laser beam carves the way forward, one small cut at a time. Moses held up his rod, stepped into the sea, and it gave way after he moved in first. The electric current of bright hope will carve a way to the other side. This I am sure, but only if your leading edge is sharp and burning with passion and eagerness. Hope fulfilled will be the tree of life for you.
