Fond memories are made of very simple things.

Your fondest memories are likely to be the simplest things that seem insignificant in the moment. You’ll remember being with your grandmother at the kitchen table, as she gave you permission to lick the cake batter off of the spatula. Fond memories are those nostalgic moments you’d give anything to repeat – riding your bike as a child in the crisp air of an October afternoon; warm winters, cozy by the fire; care-free, summer fun in the pool; and evening, weekend cocktails on the back deck with your neighbors. Must the good days always be in the past?

Who is going to have fond memories of corporate meetings? Who is going to have fond memories of what’s in your bank account? Who is going to have fond memories of a closet full of clothes?
Fondness comes from simple moments that make you feel human. You’re not going to be fond of how much you’ve achieved to bolster your ego. You’re going to remember those things that make you tenderhearted.

Fond memories are made out of simple, joyful, warm and tender interactions with other humans, animals, and nature. They come from smiles, encouragement, consolation, compassion, and being care-free. Notice and appreciate every eyeball, every shade of light, every color and texture, and the simplicity of the moment. Deeply appreciate what life is offering in the strangest corners – simple interactions and “dull” things that you once overlooked. The only place you’re going is to the cemetery. Make fond memories along the way – those “little” things that seem insignificant. Get the most out of life by savoring the smell of freshly-baked, chocolate chip cookies, and a myriad of other, hidden beauties that’d you’d miss if they were gone. The only moment is now, simple, unfiltered, and as is. Pay attention, and be fond of it, because it’s gone in a flash.
