Here’s why hope matters.

For some reason, being hopeless and doubtful has become the way of the world. We wallow in doubt and worry, and we build our lives around pessimism. But could there be a better way? I think so. I think we need hope. Believe it or not, hope is a key ingredient to productivity, overall wellness, energy, and success. There’s compelling science to back me up. Hope produces the right kind of brain chemistry that leads to feeling happy and healthy. Unfortunately, people who are energized by hopeful possibility are often shot down by others, and criticized as being unrealistic and/or childish. I don’t know why hope has gotten such a negative rap these days, but I for one have decided to make hope my closest and dearest friend.

I’ve seen why hope matters. I’ve seen amazing things happen when hope outshines the fear of the worst-case scenario. The doomsday naysayers have had the microphone for far too long in this world. Let’s put hope on center stage. Hope restores life to the present moment. It kindles the mind to believe in possibility; it plugs into the divine intelligence; it broadens problem-solving skills; and it gives the energy to try again! It gives you the openness to go with the flow, to think outside the box, and to welcome that surprise that you needed, just in the nick of time. Hope creates the space that possibility needs to grow. Hope is fundamental to the words “I can.” Hope fuels ability, shuts down the naysayers, and uplifts the desperate. Let’s bring back the childlike wonder of hope, and shut down the paralyzing nature of fear. If we truly have nothing to fear in life – then we need a different message. Be hopeful, no matter what. Embrace hope until your dying day, and the present moment will always be full of life and energy!
