Being self-conscious chokes off the room to grow.

Eventually you will grow because you cannot stop progress, you can only slow it down. You can only limit yourself for so long before it drives you nuts. The key is to take what you know, and to use it to your advantage, the advantage of progress. Become a student of your circumstance, rather than a victim of it. Be open to learning how your limiting beliefs might be the root cause of your own suffering. The energy for advancement comes from building positive beliefs about yourself, and to let them take root, before the weeds of negative thinking chokes off your potential.

A self-conscious person clouds growth potential by having a “Why me?” attitude. If you are healthily conscious of self, however, you ask not “Why me?” but “Why not me?” When you ask, “Why not me?” you realize that every answer just feels like a flimsy excuse. So why not believe in yourself? No answer is convincing, is it? Neither is any reason why you don’t deserve better.

Life loves to challenge the skeptic, so if you disbelieve in yourself, get ready for some challenge! If you think you can’t, then get ready – life will do its best to prove you wrong. It will show you that you’re not just an ordinary person. If you want to help yourself grow, become conscious of self – keep an eye out for ways that your beliefs may be slowing your advancement. Push yourself to believe more for yourself, before life makes you learn the hard way, that you actually deserve it. If you can cut off negative beliefs at the pass, growth will flourish. Cultivate your self-beliefs, get out of the way of natural progress. Turn the self-conscious, defeatist attitudes into open, eager desires to grow, mature, and expand. Once that growth mindset begins to take root, its momentum becomes unstoppable, and it will flower with real, and often surprising results in your life.
