Step onto the ledge of change; it’s where hope does its best.

The energy of fear can be leveraged to your advantage, if you convert it to expectancy. Somehow, life is pushing us towards expecting more for ourselves. It’s almost as if hope is a necessary ingredient to vibrancy and richness. But having hope comes with a bit of discomfort, because it may be moving you towards the edge of the unknown, and this can seem frightening.

The trepidation of fear is precisely what is necessary to fuel the expansion of your mind, to open your heart, and to help you discover how to grow. It’s not being reckless. Being reckless is simply overriding or ignoring your intuition. I’m talking about dreaming, having a plan, writing down your goals, and articulating your desires. Life wants you to use your imagination, and hope for what you want. But hope has the potential to unleash fear, that’s the contrasting side. When fear wells up, most people give up on their hope because they are uncomfortable. But life won’t let you stay in your comfort zone either.

There’s a compelling force within you that wants you to dream – to dream bigger, to hope freely, more like a child, to aspire like an entrepreneur, and to grow more rigorously. Use what you are afraid of and fuel the energy of your desired future. The key is to step out and push yourself beyond the old limits, into the new, exciting, and wonderfully fearful regions of hope. Life’s fullness can only be realized once you step onto the ledge, look down, get exhilarated (not paralyzed), then jump. The free fall will scare you at first, but once you reclaim your wits, it will thrill you, and you’ll realize that you had nothing to be afraid of except change. And change may be exactly what you need to feel alive again.
