Blessings can feel like an avalanche for some, but a trickle for others. I’m one that feels blessing on my life is like an avalanche. Unfortunately, I often fail to recognize my own prosperity! This was especially true in my younger years. But once you begin to see abundance, it’s often difficult know what to do with it all! The point is not to count your blessings, and name them one by one; the purpose is to use those blessings and to give back. The universe’s generosity is not meant for you to just “take inventory.” It’s meant for you to recognize how you can become benevolent with your own talents and resources.
Today, think of ways that you can be a better steward of what you’ve been given. If you have things in your life that you no longer care for, or don’t need – give them away. If you find that you have some extra time today, make good use of it. Being a good steward of resources doesn’t mean counting your blessings, it means using your blessings as a means of helping others. Don’t waste, don’t hoard, don’t stock up, and don’t use accumulation as a metric of success. Making lists of everything you’re grateful for is a wonderful exercise, but once that’s done, expand that list to include ways that you can use those blessings to give back. Turn the acknowledgement of tangible blessing into the act of service. Expressing gratitude through service is the only way to rightfully acknowledge the blessings that we’ve been given. Be a good steward of your resources, and become a servant for the good of others. That’s one of the best ways to truly express your thankfulness!
