We often withhold our true desires, and we don’t express our honest emotions, in a feeble attempt to “protect” the feelings of our loved ones. But the spirit knows when you are lying or when you are keeping things bottled up. Others can detect it too! We must be loving with ourselves and with others, even when times are challenging. All of that so-called protecting (by denying our truest self), is simply adding to an internal pressure valve that will eventually explode into a dramatic, often life-changing event. The toxic energy of dishonesty will eventually find its way to the surface, and the truth will emerge. Why not let the truth surface before the explosive pressure erupts?
When your life is incongruent with what your spirit needs and wants, you won’t feel grounded and peaceful. You’ll feel restless, uncomfortable, and life will seem dull and routine. You simply cannot protect your loved ones or yourself by harnessing a lie of who you really need to be. You cannot live a lie, fearful of the “harm” that the truth might expose, should you reveal it. But don’t let the pressure valve build up by denying what is necessary for your spirit, even it means the end of a relationship, or taking a new path with a career, or making changes that you know need to make – all for your own, honest benefit. Your spirit’s desires and impulses are true, and honesty always needs to be known. What’s true and honest is not what’s always easy, and practical. Live and speak your truth by allowing what’s in your heart to be known, before it catches you by “surprise.” Listen to your still, small voice, and respond to it truthfully, even if it means radical change in your life. As you mature, you will be happier when you listen to your spirit, rather than denying yourself in the so-called need to protect others. Live your truth, and watch your life flourish in ways you could never imagine.
