The carefree nature of the spirit, and the carelessness of the mind.

The carefree nature of the spirit knows that there is actually no risk in life – not even death is to be feared. But the mind is designed to protect, and it does a fabulous job. However the mind often overshoots its responsibility. It clouds our ability to take risk, and it butts in, making everything seem murky, confusing, and “worrisome,” when we’re faced with challenge. The mind is actually careless, which means that it only “knows” the past. The mind generates gloomy scenarios which are meant to keep you out of so-called danger, but actually it only holds you back from the goodness that awaits you in taking more risk.

The mind “cares” about what others think; it “cares” about the so-called penalty of failure; it “cares” about your feelings of inadequacy; it “cares” about your doubts; and it “cares” simply about keeping you comfortable. That’s actually carelessness. The spirit, however, desires to set you free from what the mind labels as “care.” The obsessive mind’s view of so-called care is actually just useless worry, childish fear, fatiguing doubt, and false stories related to inadequacy – all based on past experience.

Spiritual, carefree-ness is freedom from the lies that the mind has a tendency to produce. The carefree nature of your spirit calls you to liberation that most humans never realize in a lifetime. The carefree nature of your inner being desires you to make changes; it desires growth; and it desires you to expand beyond your potential – but too often, we ignore this spiritual charge. Ignoring your desires to do what’s right for yourself is carelessness in its rawest form. Becoming carefree is one of the most important destinations for all humans – it’s not neglect, but freedom. Carefree means setting yourself free from the prison you have built around your own life. Carefree means seeing how you are the cause of your so-called problem. But more importantly, it’s in seeing how you are also the solution.
