This wonderful universe of ours allows us to believe as we wish, and through those beliefs, serves us. If you believe that life is hard, consider it yours. The universe will give you the evidence to support your beliefs, even limiting, negative, and self-ridiculing ones. I’m puzzled when people say they’re not very gifted, or are incapable. What good will that belief serve them? I’m equally as puzzled by those who believe in their “specialness” and that others should move heaven and earth to accommodate them. Do your beliefs serve your ego, or do they serve your greater good. There’s a difference.
In a recent conversation, a friend was telling me of all kinds of turmoil and stress that she had in her life. It ranged from strife with an estranged daughter and grandchild, to a contentious situation with family members fighting over a deceased loved-one’s estate. I said to her, “You’ve had your fair share of troubles, haven’t you?” She replied, “I don’t feel like I’m destined to have a happy life, and I can’t catch a break.” Those are affirmative beliefs that are at the root of her trouble.
I wonder if her problematic circumstances made her believe that way, or if her beliefs served up her circumstances. I believe that life is joyful, exciting, trouble-free, and precious. I believe that I am prosperous, healthy, and safe at all times. I believe in the good nature of people. I believe in the abundance of creation and of the wisdom therein. I believe that I’m a divinely created being without limits. Those beliefs serve my greater good. Negative beliefs serve up garbage. Remember, the universe allows you to believe what you want, and lets you find evidence of support, positive or negative. Be careful what you serve up in your life. It starts with your beliefs.
