When I feel alive, my spirit sings. When I do things my spirit enjoys, I hum, I have more energy and drive, and I have more zip in my step. When my spirit sings, it’s eager. The spirit gravitates towards that which makes it sing, and it wants to avoid that which dims it down. Another way to examine what makes your spirit sing is by asking, “Do I like who I am when I am doing such and such?” Or you can also ask, “Do I like who I am when I am with so and so?” Each and every situation will reflect back to you a certain amount of energy that will either encourage your spirit to sing, or it will dull it down, mute it, or turn it off altogether. When it’s dull or mute, you feel confused, bored, and/or agitated. When it’s singing, you feel clear, calm, and joyful. It’s that simple.
Getting in tune with what makes your spirit soar is vital to your life’s journey. Observe your behaviors. When you engage in an activity, does it make you feel good about yourself? Does it give you energy, and does it feel worth your time? Do the people you associate with and spend time with, bring out your sense of humor, your interest to share, and your interest to listen? What helps to draw out your singing spirit? Pay attention to when it happens, and especially to when it’s not happening. Observe yourself carefully. Monitor your feelings and intuitive powers, and follow the best of who you are. You want to feel connected, grounded, and you want to flourish in life, not trudge. But you cannot do that, if you don’t pay attention to what makes your spirit sing!
