Assurance is certainty. It’s a positive declaration intended to give confidence. Assurance is a belief that you hold about yourself; a faith in your capacity to succeed; a knowing that you can do well; that you can behave well; and that you can be well. Assurance is strengthened by challenge, failures, and successes. In other words, it’s experience that shores up assurance, so dive in – get going. If you’ve made it this far and survived, but not yet thrived, assurance is waiting for you.
How much faith do you put in the probability of your own failure? Are you just absolutely certain that you cannot do what you set out to do? Are you certain that you are lazy, not educated enough, or that you are a procrastinator? Are you absolutely sure that you’re too old, too unmotivated, or too out of shape? Where is your certainty – in your lack or in your possibility? Put your certainty in what you know is true – that you are as remarkable as anyone that you have ever admired. You’re not on the bottom; you’re not average; you’re not “ordinary.” Those beliefs are lies – abandon them.
Doubt it easy. Assurance takes effort, but effort isn’t hard, it just requires action. No-one ever accomplished anything great by declaring that it was impossible, or in believing that they were lazy or unworthy. Assurance is a certainty in your greatness, and a declaration of your miraculous abilities as a human. But moreover, it’s not just that you can, it’s that you will. Shore up your self-faith. Strengthen the beliefs that you hold about yourself. Examine them carefully. Declare possibility. Say it enough until you believe it, and that you become assured in your potential. What you are capable of is always much bigger than your self-beliefs, so expand your thinking. Expand your possibility, and shore up your self-assurance. It’s time.
