Feeling defeated is an illusion.

If you feel like a loser, or that you have somehow been defeated, I have a few questions: Who is your competitor?; Who or what is challenging you?; and what kind of competition or battle are you engaged in? If you believe that you have lost, or that you have been defeated, the truth is that you have been desperately engaged with a battle in your head. The conditioned mind has set up an unattainable metric to which your thoughts and actions will never measure up. You’ve been convicted, tried, and sentenced by your own thinking. The penalty for such a conviction? – cognitive misery.

You’ve been tricked into thinking that life is a competition against some force that is outside of your mental realm. You’ve been deceived into thinking success is only for other people. You’ve been tricked into believing your destiny is mediocrity, destitution, and lack. But victory, success, and prosperity are contained in one pivotal truth – winning is believing in yourself, not your thoughts. YOU are the one who is above the thoughts. Believing in yourself is knowing that you are more than your thoughts, and that you can take action, even when the mind is fearful of the outcome. It’s a powerful, effective choice that liberates you from the feeling of defeat!

The one who understands the farce and limitations of the thinking mind is your true self – the I AM. The I AM knows the lies that thoughts can generate. When you succumb to doubtful self-talk, if only feels like you’ve been defeated. Feeling defeated only makes you shrink, pull back, and cower in the present moment. However, when you rise above that mental clatter, lean into fear, and take action anyway, you become a winner, no matter what the outcome is. What you do is not what makes you a winner, that you do (take action) in spite of fear, is what makes you a winner. The real competitor in you desires to defeat fear, once and for all. Be a winner today!
