Reform the world with the right kind of information.

Because information is pervasive and easily accessible, filtering what you need to know is challenging. But how much of it do you really need? Think carefully about how your worldview is influenced by what information you consume. How does the information that you take in form you, and how does the information you give out, form those who are around you? Look carefully at the word “information” – it has the word “form” built right into it. That’s an important clue into the world of information itself. It has tremendous power to form our perceptions of reality.

Rather than just taking in information, let’s figure out ways to reform the world through our conversations, and through our own ability to think for ourselves. Reformation is possible, only if the information that we consume is thoroughly scrutinized. Is the information helpful, is it necessary, and does it positively shape your world? Reforming takes imagination, not just mindless consumption of news, social media postings, and opinion. It takes hope, and it takes getting information from another source. That source is a deeper, inner self that knows that we can do better than the growing perception of a world that is segmented as “us vs. them.”

When we inform others of hope, love, encouragement, etc., we reform the world we live in. So-called news, as it’s presented in the media, is nothing more than deformation, defamation, and destruction. If you curtail your information intake, don’t worry about missing out. If it is something you need to know, it will find its way to you. Let’s use information to reform, rather than to deform the world. Don’t let information use you. Instead, use it to form hope, to form possibility, and to form loving truths about humanity. Form a new reality today. Be a part of the much-needed reformation of the world by taking in and giving out helpful, hopeful, and loving information to each person you encounter today.
