The world is made of sugar, it dissolves as soon as you taste its sweetness.

It’s impossible to really see what life is. That’s because life cannot be seen. There is a mask covering the truth of what being a human is all about. It can only be sensed in your quietest moments, or sometimes through your most difficult trials. When it awakens in you, you will know because the things that once mattered to you will gradually become dim and lose their meaning. The physical treasures that once pleased you, will seem unsatisfying, and concepts around who you think you are will crumble like a pillar of salt.

To extract the deeper meaning of who resides within the body that you occupy, you first need to understand that you are not living, but “being lived.” It’s understanding that the entity that animates your body, that grows your fingernails, that beats you heart and that gives you life itself, is the source of everything known and unknown. The purpose of living is to fully engage with that which makes it all possible. Engaging with that entity allows you to have it all, without clinging to a single object or concept. It allows you to play, to be free, and to explore – like a child. It allows you to have adventure and wander, like a nomad. It allows you to travel, and yet to go nowhere. It allows you to indulge in the decadence of the world, do it over and over again, and never get “full.” It allows you to possess things without being possessed by things.

The only truth that can fill your cup is that which is the source of it all – the unnamable presence that quietly resides, beneath and beyond the surface. It’s the only (yet undefinable) thing that can satisfy your sweet tooth. Taste and see, but remember it always disappears if you try to recognize it in physical form. Life cannot be pinned down – so set it free, and let it go. It’s more fun to just play, to enjoy, and to watch it disappear the minute the sweetness of its pleasure dissolves on your tongue.
