Life’s opportunities are like those moments in the Indiana Jones’ movies where he slips under the closing trap door, just in the nick of time. But seeing the opening of opportunity is usually not obvious. It doesn’t have a conspicuous sign that says, “This way!” The subtlety of opportunity can be scary for us because we want to “know” the details or the outcome. But living in fear, which is often disguised as being cautious, closes the door to opportunity. The more times we say “no” because of resistance and fear, the more times opportunity is withheld from us. We often say “no” because we think don’t have what it takes to create and attract what we really want for ourselves. But the universe doesn’t care if you don’t have enough resources to take action on an opportunity. It doesn’t care if you have enough resources because it can create the resources that you need! It only seems to care if you listen to the prompts it gives you to move forward.
Opportunity is not convenient either. You’ll never feel as though you have enough time, or that it is the “right” time to take action on something you’ve longed for in your life. But the universe doesn’t care if you don’t have enough time – it will create the time for you! Opportunity waits for those who are willing to respond to its urges in precisely the perfect time.
Open yourself up to what might be the golden moment, and for what you’ve always wanted for yourself. It takes a trusting knowledge that there is something greater that is working on your behalf. However, you can’t be afraid to inch forward and say “yes” when opportunity leans into your ear and says, “take a chance.” The more you learn to recognize the prompting of opportunity and to say “yes,” the more opportunities will come to you – bigger and better. Just like Indiana, be ready, be willing, be eager, and be bold to slip through the closing door opportunity, just in the nick of time – it won’t wait forever, but it will always leave you just enough time to grab your hat!
