The mind is a garden, and it will cultivate whatever you allow to be planted into it. Most humans have mental “weeds” that choke out and overgrow the space that is needed for improvement in life. We all have weeds and pests in our lives, but every garden has that. A green-thumbed gardener is vigilant against such invaders. The seeds of thought are what eventually turn into the results of your life. So be careful of what “ingredients” go into your mental soil, so that what comes out and bears fruit is healthy, joyful, and loving. But just like junk food poisons the body, so too does junk information poison the mind. Taking in unnecessary “news,” consuming too much social-media, and allowing the mind to stew and worry over negative images and words creates a hostile, mental environment. Taking in negativity does indeed affect your mental soil, but you are the gatekeeper of what goes into it, and of what comes out of it.
Is your garden (the results of your life) flourishing, or is it barren, desolate or overtaken with pests? What do you allow to take into your mental soil? What do you allow the mind to think about the most? Is it vibrant and healthy, or is it automatic, negative, compulsive and useless? Don’t overlook the impact of your thoughts, how they are directly responsible for your emotional health, and how they impact the specific results of your life. The mind is the foundation of every result that you see in your life, and it needs attention, nourishment, and intentionality. Start clearing it out, make some space (mediation), fertilize it with nourishing images and information, and start loving yourself more and more! No more mental junk, or negative images of yourself and of your circumstance. Your mental “field” cannot be barren, empty, or overgrown with unwanted pests any longer! It is to be spacious, fertile, organized, rich, intentionally good, productive, and joyful. Feed your mental “soil” daily – cultivate it often, and watch your garden grow into the perfection of your deepest desires.
