When we have dreams about what we wish to have or what we wish to accomplish, we often downgrade them when we begin to think of how they will become reality. Dreams get downgraded by three recurring factors. First, when you initially dream of something, it’s because it pleases YOU. But then you rethink of “others,” and you try to figure out if or how your dreams will please or displease them. You cannot meddle in the emotional well-being of others, anyway. You can only please yourself, so stick with the plan. Secondly, dreams get downgraded when you start thinking of your worthiness of them. The lower you place yourself on the metric of worthiness, the lower your dreams become, and this is utter nonsense. We all deserve the best of our dreams, no matter how “big” they seem. Thirdly, our dreams get downgraded because we try to figure out the “how-to’s.” When we do this, dreams become schemes. The how-to’s of your dreams are the responsibility of the universe. We can’t meddle in the affairs of the details, leave that up to the miracle of life, and trust that it will work, always to your benefit.
Downsizing your dreams into schemes is not compromise, or “settling” for less. If you dream of less, that’s exactly what you’ll get. Dreaming of having more because it pleases you, or so you can give more to others, will make you feel like you’re “settling” for more. You will feel settled, not unsettled when you please yourself this way. Go back to the initial dream and recapture the rapture of its beauty. Hold on to the pleasure of that dream, the one that makes you feel settled, peaceful and joyful. You are worthy and you are deserving of all that the universe has to offer to you – don’t downgrade it anymore. It will only make you feel unsettled.
