Welcome to The Light Ages

Monday, January 19, 2026

I believe humanity is going through a dark age. If you feel like you have “no time,” you’re going through a dark age. Running out of time, a feeling of desperation, and an acute sensation of panic can end. If you feel like you’re going to run out of money or that you’ll lose people you think you depend on – you’re living in a dark age.

A dark age is where little to no creative work happens. It’s a period of decline. More broadly, it’s a time when there is a lack of knowledge, enlightenment, or advancement. There seems to be no time, no contemplation, and no inspiration mined in the wellspring of the soul. There is hyper focus on mere survival, gasping for air at the surface.

A dark age is tense apprehension. What you’ve worked so hard to save, scrape together, and build is threatened. A Light Age dawns when yearning to let go takes over. You want to purge, to allow so you can see how well you can get along without all of that desperation. You want to turn your life over to nature. You want to realize you have all the time in the world, all the money in the world, and that ephemerality is kind, not cruel.

A Light Age is a new period, living with a healed mind. It’s recovery, at first. But it spawns a new way of thought, one bursting with creative abundance. Your mind doesn’t nag you first thing in the morning. It plays sweetly. Your body doesn’t hurt. It moves like a child’s. Your concern isn’t survival, getting away, or protecting. Your new love is creating, giving, playing. And you discover the dawning of a whole new world of aliveness, all within a world still in the dark, asleep, and paranoid.

The Light Ages are upon us.
