If you have it already, what would you ask for?

Jesus said, “Whatever you pray for, believe as you have it already.” Eckhart Tolle says, “Whatever you pray for, feel as you have it already.” Ryan Hebert says, “If you have it already, what would there be to ask for?”

This was a game changer for me. If I am to believe that I have it already, it would mean I wouldn’t be asking for anything, right? It would mean I have it already. So the question would be, how would you act if you had it already? How would you be if all your wishes were fulfilled? Free as a bird to do whatever you desire. Wait, I thought we were done with desire!

Let’s say you have everything you’ve always wanted – no more to work towards, no more to buy, no more to search for. Then what? There is still something to be desired.

Once you have everything you want, you name it. Most people have spent their entire lives waiting. Once I get it, then I’ll act fulfilled. Act fulfilled, and you’ll get it. If I have no wants, no goals, no desires, what do I do with myself? You name it, and I’ll bet it’ll have something to do with fun, stupid frivolity, or giving away crazy things.

You’d simply dance, play, frolic around – give a car away. You would have leisure. You’d sculpt a perfectly lean body. You’d vacation. You’d rest. You’d do whatever the hell you wanted to. You name it.

So why don’t you do that now? A life that’s a means to an end is perfectly miserable. They spend their whole life “getting there.” If only you realized you are already have it, what could you possibly “need?”

“If you have it already, what would you ask for?” You name it, and likely, it’ll have to do with childlike fun and games.
