What’s so bad about death? It seems like a relief to me. But if death is so scary, then so is living. When does death start? You start dying at conception. Before you’re born, you’re technically dying in the womb. That’s when the aging process begins. That means that death lives, even nestled in the womb. Womb and tomb are synonyms.
So, are you afraid of dying? You’re dying right now, and you’re afraid of it. You live betwixt life and death, right smack-dab in the middle of maybe. Do you have a problem with that? You don’t even have a choice. It’s much easier to surrender to what cannot be avoided and live more womb-like than tomb-like – free like a newborn.
I might run out of funds. I might get sick. I might not live that long. I might not make it. Well, death can’t be the problem because it’s happening now. When I get a colonoscopy and before they inject the propofol, my doctor says, “Lights out.” Heavenly bliss. So, if death is not all that bad, then life is not all that bad either, and problems are for later.
Maybe is a friend. It’s not all that bad. Even when it’s 99% hell, there always seems to be a tiny space to keep going. A sliver of a womb. Who knows, maybe you keep going in death too. Is the tomb airtight? Maybe maybe ain’t all that bad. She’s a lot more roomy and forgiving than you think. So maybe death is too. To be honest, most people are afraid to call me maybe. She’s friendly once you get to know her.
