The universe itself was a tiny spec at one time. At first, the universe was simple and probably could be placed on the head of a pin. There were no stars or galaxies. After the Big Bang, protons and neutrons began combining into ionized atoms. But simplicity remains the fundamentality of the present moment. Each new moment is a freshness we can’t even grasp. Once you even notice what is considered a beginning, it’s over.
The fundamental building blocks of the universe are imperceptible. In the present moment, hardly-noticeable increments are occurring and tend to elude our brains which dwell in past and future. Now contains mystery. Isn’t this amazing? The building blocks of the universe are so easy, so small that they’re invisible!
The Gloria Patri states, “as it was in the beginning is now, and will be forever.” In the seed, the grandiosity and wisdom of the fully mature tree is contained. And in the fully mature tree, the simplicity of the seed is contained – one-in-the-same. In the Tao, it states that a journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. But that’s how it remains – one step. And where one step begins and something we call “another” step begins is imperceptible. The past is over, and in many ways so is the present. It might be so elusive, it could hardly be considered real. Simple and complex are sublime synonyms.
You need not worry about complexity and grandiosity. All you need is a simpleminded approach to whatever you wish to do. Do it easily and with continual, fresh focus. Do it joyfully. Take the step, clean the slate, and take the step. As it was in the beginning (small, undetectable, and easy) is now and will be forever.
