Who’s the boss?

I believe we yearn for freedom. This feeling of being under pressure, feeling obligated, and feeling guilty are part of the enslaving mind. Don’t you just want to get away? What’s the perfect getaway, if not to escape reality? Well, we could drink ourselves silly, but that only accentuates that we’re stuck in the body, the morning after. We could eat comfort food, but then I’d wonder, why are we so uncomfortable?

Think about all the people who fantasize about winning the lottery, or who fantasize about retirement. It’s about escaping form. Escapement is at the heart of busywork. After all, idle time is the devil’s workshop.

Maybe the devil’s workshop is paradise. It might be exactly what you’re looking for. But you’re too busy trying to escape reality and escaping “idle time.” That’s what we might call limbo, or purgatory.

Paradise is the freedom of realizing you’re the boss, even though you seem “stuck” in a limited body. Visit the devil’s workshop and see what’s in there. Idle time – real idle time is harmless and dare I say paradise. Purgatory is also harmless. At some point you’ll realize you’re the boss, not the slave, nor the one trapped in-between. You’re not the devil. You’re not the slave. You’re not in limbo. You’re just afraid you might be divine, effortless, and infinitely powerful. You’re the boss, never bound. You’re not damned if you do or damned if you don’t. You’re in charge, now own up to it. Act like the owner. You created the devil’s workshop. Walk in like you own the joint. You do, and you just don’t know it.
