My particular view of the universe is spectacular! I get to do and see unique things. I get to go up into cathedral choir lofts and play historic organs, climb bell towers, and see views unknown to the common folk. I get to fly airplanes. I get to conduct choirs. I get to write and compose music. I got to grow up in South Louisiana with the sweetest Cajun grandparents on the earth who cooked the most delicious meals.
I got a chance to start this blog and have loved it. I’m writing a book. I get to live in this awesome body of mine. I’ve hired a personal trainer and love being lean and muscular. I’ve earned a doctorate, can play a Bach trio sonata, and can ride my bike every day.
But why am I bragging? There’s no way I could see your sliver of this wonderful universe. I can’t imagine all the spectacular things you get to do that no-one else does. Perhaps you have kids. I wouldn’t know anything about that. Perhaps you’re female – I haven’t a clue!
You see, I think we’re bored with ourselves. We think our lives are ordinary, but when you get right down to it, your life’s journey has given you a vantage point. That means you’ve learned something I can’t know. We think that everyone else thinks like us, has experienced life like us, and that our view of the universe is not all that spectacular. Too bad! The view is breathtaking when you think about it. Your vantage point has something that can be leveraged. Your journey gives you a vantage point. Take advantage of it. It’s your gift to the world.
